How to find international buyer for export

When we think about starting export business first thing comes in our mind that how we will find genuine buyer for our product.

Finding buyers looks like a tough job from outside but if you know the proper procedures you can find a genuine buyer for your products.

First of all you should have complete knowledge about your product which you want to export. Because you should be able to explain about your product in detail so that the potential buyers can get complete details of your product.

The next step is to search markets for your product. Make a list of the countries where your product is getting sold mostly (list of top 5 or top 10 counties). The details you will get on various websites.

Once your target list is ready you have to start your activities:

1. Register your business entity on B2B portals of those countries with your product details and email id, mobile no. (WhatsApp no. must be available). So that if any buyer is interested on your product they can contact you over WhatsApp, phone call or email.

2. Contact Chamber of commerce and other associations of those countries share the product details and ask them the list of buyers. Details of these associations are available online.

3. Attend trade fairs or exhibitions at targeted countries. These exhibitions or trade fairs are very helpful as you can directly communicate with buyers. You can register on export promotion council, chamber of commerce, export federations of your countries in order to get details of these types of trade fairs.

4. Join various groups on social media like LinkedIn & Facebook. Many groups are already created in LinkedIn and Facebook regarding import/export and international business, join those groups and promote your product there. you can directly contact with buyers on these platforms also.

Once you got buyer's data prepare a list with their name, contact no, email id etc. Start sending emails to each buyer along with your complete profile and product details, send a systematic email and express your willingness to work with them.

Keep sending emails regularly to different buyers and also contact with them over phone call or WhatsApp.

Some of them will revert with their query and they will show their interest on your product. Talk to interested buyers and send the samples to them if required.

Quality of your product plays a vital role here, your sample's quality should match to the standard of that country. First you gather information regarding the quality of the product is getting supplied to the targeted country. Do not send low quality sample to the countries where high quality product is in demand otherwise buyer will not consider your offer. You can send low quality samples to the countries where low cost products are in demand.

If sample is approved buyer will ask you to discuss regarding details like price, packing, quantity, delivery timeline, incoterms,  payment terms ect. All these things comes under negotiation.

After negotiation purchase order and sales contract will be prepared and export process will be started.
