Software Technology Parks of India (STPI)

STPI is an autonomous society which is established with the objective of enhancing software export of the country.

STPI was established on 5th June 1991 by Indian ministry of electronics and information technology.
STPI headquarter is located at New Delhi, India.

STPI was established to grow IT industry, to provide support to internet services/ data communication services, to support industries in the field of IT consultancy & project management, to promote software development and software export, to promote MSME companies by providing better environment in the field of IT and IT enabled services etc. The main objective of STPI is to promote software service export of the country.

Benefits provided to the organizations under STPI:

1) Custom duty exemption on capital goods imports:
Companies registered under STPI gets 100% exemption on import of capital goods. If they purchase/ import any capital goods like laptops, building materials, furniture, machinery, tools, equipment etc. from other countries import duty for these goods will be waived off.

2) Exemption of excise duty on indigenous procurements:
Excise duty will be exempted if capital goods are purchased from domestic markets. 

3) Central sales tax reimbursement on indigenous procurements:
CST reimbursement is allowed for STP units if goods are purchased from domestic markets under C form.

4) Single window clearance for approvals.
Single window clearance is provided for project approval which simplify process and makes it fast track.

5) Green card:
Green card provides hassle-free project implementation as green card holders given preference on project clearance from government.

6) 100% foreign equity is permitted.
7) Re-export of capital goods are permitted.
8) Sales in domestic tariff area is permitted.
